General Information: *Exciting News! Our class met all 4 of our Tritt Mazing Race goals! We have already celebrated the 1st two, so this week coming up we will have no homework required, and we will be celebrating Electronic Game day. We will be having game day on Friday Nov 3. Info will come home this week explaining it! Thank you for supporting Tritt! When you do you are supporting so many great opportunities and all the things that make Tritt such a special and amazing place! * Tuesday, Oct 30 Tritt will celebrate Halloween with a hat day! Anyone can wear a hat that wants too! Please remember no hats that cover your child’s face are allowed. **Friday was such an incredible day! I hope your children came home and told you how much fun we had! The Tritt-Mazing Race was fabulous! The kids had so much fun completing the challenges both mental and physical. And we won the poster contest for 2nd grade!! Math: Addition within 100 using the number line strategy, beginning subtraction with place value Reading/Language Arts: Non Fiction text, author’s points in texts, and root words Writing: Informational writing/Lab reports Science: Concluding our unit on Forces/Cause and effect of environmental change STEM- Designing a device (marble maze) that changes the direction or speed of a moving object. *Thank you all for coming to our conferences last week. I learned so many new things about your children, and I hope you were able to go away with new information as well! I love new books and adding to our classroom library is always great! *Please make sure you are collecting box tops and sending them in a baggie labeled with my name and second grade! The winner of the box top contest gets a popsicle party, and who doesn’t love popsicles?!?! * Xdrenaline Field trip is Tuesday 10-24. Children should wear their burgundy kind is the new cool shirts! Also, please send a DISPOSABLE water bottle labeled with their name. They will be able to take DISPOSABLE water bottles ONLY! It is going to be so much fun! *Greetings from the computer lab! Your second grader worked hard this past quarter to hone their drawing and animation skills. Using a digital resource about the sun, light, and shadow, students created a digital drawing to serve as a background for their animation showing the movement of the sun across the sky and the shadows cast by their drawn object. Second Quarter Walk To School Day at Tritt - Wednesday, October 25th We would like to invite you to walk/ bike to school on Wednesday, October 25th. You can walk/bike with your parents or you can join the Tritt Staff at the following spots: • Mrs. Keesling & Mrs. Oubs at the Walden Lane entrance of Chimney Springs. • Ms. Wilson and Ms. Neal at the first entrance to Revere Circle NE and Chimney Springs Dr. NE (Entrance closest to Tritt) • Mrs. Smarr & Mrs. McFerrin at the Chimney Springs Clubhouse. • Mr. Theriault & Mr. Giunta at the YMCA. • Mrs. Kappel at the Walden Estates Dr. Cul-de-Sac. • If you want to ride your bike: meet Mrs. Pascaul at the YMCA. All bikers will meet at 6:45; all walkers will meet at each spot at 6:55. 0 Comments Parents, Please be on the lookout for information via email and your child’s folder regarding the Tritt-Mazing Race (formerly DASH)!! This is our biggest PTA fundraiser, the kids have so much fun working to reach their goals, and is one of the big contributors that makes our school the wonderful place it is!! Also, a reminder that Thursday is an early release day. ASP will be open during early release hours and regular ASP hours. The week of October 16-20 is conference week and we will have early release all week. I am so excited to meet with you to share all the wonderful things your children are doing here at school, and discuss our next steps to help move them along as they grow and become the best 3rd graders Tritt has ever seen! :) Finally, our X-drenaline field trip is Tuesday, October 24th. Please have your child wear their maroon Kind is the New Cool shirt. If you are sending in your child’s lunch from home please put it in a disposable bag with their name on it!
